Our collaborative research work on "Compositional tuning of metastable ferroelectric phases and Landau-reconstructed negative-capacitance energy landscapes in combinatorial Hf1-xZrxO2 thin films" got published in Scientific Reports (I.F = 4.9).

We are pleased to announce the publication of our latest research article, "Self‐Rectifying Second Order Memristive Behavior in WO3 Films for Neuromorphic Computing Applications" in Advanced Materials Technologies (I.F. = 6.2).

Dr. Atul Thakre has been appointed to the Editorial Board of Scientific Reviews, a newly launched open-access journal published by Nature Portfolio.

Dr. Atul Thakre joined as a Guest Editor for the recently launched research collection “Topological Properties and Applications of Kagome Materials” in Frontiers in Materials. Researchers working in this exciting area are invited to contribute, with submissions open until 19 October 2026.

AEMD along with SVNIT Surat, is jointly organizing a Three-Day National Workshop on Density Functional Theory from 16th March to 18th March 2026. 

Dr. Ashok Kumar, Senior Principal Scientist at the National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi, visited VIT Vellore and our laboratory. During his visit, he interacted with the faculty and research scholars. 

Our paper, "Electronic and Optical Properties of Lanthanide doped La₂Ti₂O₇: A First Principle Study," is published in Physica Status Solidi – Rapid Research Letters (PSS:RRL) (I.F. = 2).

A chapter has been accepted for publication in the forthcoming Wiley book, "Properties and Applications of Advanced Materials."

PhD student from our group Mr. Agesthian Suresh, received best poster award (from the Royal Society of Chemistry) in the 2nd International Conference on Functional Materials for Future Technology (IC-FMFT 2025).

Dr. Atul Thakre joined as a Guest Editor for the collection "Nanoelectromechanical systems" in Scientific Reports. The submission deadline is 22 July 2026. 

Dr. Atul Thakre joined the Editorial Board of Scientific Reports, a leading open-access journal published by Nature Portfolio. 

Collaborative research work on "Enhanced memory window and efficient resistive switching in stabilized BaTiO3-based RRAM through incorporation of Al2O3 interlayer" got published in Journal of Materials Science & Technology (I.F. = 14.3)

Collaborative research publication titled "Analog bipolar resistive switching in Sm doped BaTiO3 thin films for Opto-memristor application" in Materials Chemistry and Physics (I.F. = 4.7)

Organised a workshop on Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD). The program included invited talks by experts in academia and industry on the principle of PLD, its applications, and the most recent developments.

Our Centre for Functional Materials (CFM) received DST-FIST 2024 grant of 1.45 Cr. The title of the project is "Lattice strain and defects analysis of epitaxial thin films and single crystals by high resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD)"

Organized a Workshop on Characterization of Electrified Interfaces in Batteries and Supercapacitors in collaboration with the Electrochemical Society of India (ECS)-Student’s Chapter, IIT-Madras and Metrohm India Private Limited. 

Collaborative research work on "An investigation on low operating voltage induced self-rectifying multilevel resistive switching in AgNbO3" got published in Applied Surface Science (I.F. = 6.9)

A collaborative work on "Obtaining a broadband magneto-mechano-electric generator with large power for IoT operation" got published in Journal of Materials Chemistry A (I.F. = 9.5)

A collaborative work on "Synaptic plasticity and learning behaviour in multilevel memristive devices" got published in RSC Advances (I.F. = 4.6)

Collaborative research work on "Boosting the energy harvesting performance of cantilever structured magneto-mechano-electric generator by controlling magnetic flux intensity on magnet proof mass" got published in Journal of Materiomics (I.F = 9.6)
